Seen through the lens of my locality, the energy and expanse of the Cosmos is enlarged through these images of dynamic, open space. I have been driven by the poeticism of the imagination that has inspired the Sublime.
The central photograph of the Milky Way has been stacked from many exposures to create a more detailed final image. This reflects the surrounding uncropped 36 frames taken on 35mm film, compositing a quantum image of a more detailed whole.
Displayed in the Third Year Exhibition 'In Passing' (February 2023), at the Institute of Photography on Penryn Campus.

Using conventional photographic equipment and techniques, these images of beautiful natural landscapes refrain from pursuits of formalist qualities: omitting horizons, landmarks, people, and other iconography of the picturesque.
Displayed in a free-flowing cartographic expression of my shoot locations throughout South-West Cornwall, there is little revealed within the individual frame. However, in series, patterns emerge, and take the viewer on a journey between these open spaces, inciting the imagination.
